"U ONE" is a mixtape by South African singer-songwriter Cool C. It was released on August 27, 2022. The mixtape features guest appearances from Motive, Shiks, Dibto, C'Jade, Cynic, Truth, and winter drip. It also features the production of Cool C, Lucirex, Meckury Beatz, Hlau, Shiks, and Leizertrapbeats. 'U ONE' mixtape was supported by a single 'Black chocolate'.

The mixtape comprises fourteen songs. it was recorded in South Africa, Mukhomi and Nhombelani at a home-mobile studio. 'U ONE' was first announced by Cool C on his Facebook account. On the 19th of August, 2022, Cool C released the mixtape track list and features on his social media platforms, he went on to mention that every song in the album has its own distinctive taste.

Cool C explained that working on the mixtape was a great experience even though it came with challenges such as the distance and locations of the artists he worked with, considering that others are from Polokwane, Johannesburg and even outside the country, in his own words Cool C reiterated that "bringing them (artists) together was a challenge but a great idea and we managed to pull it off".

Cool c recorded songs for "U ONE" with Shiks between 2021 and 2022. Cool C and Shiks told Mala FM that they grow up in the same village and met some singers through a mutual friend. Cool C told Muzika Wa Afrika that the mixtape is a personal work of art and it is embedded on themes of love and togetherness.

The title of the mixtape "U ONE" was inspired by the love he has for a girl who he feels is for keeps. "U ONE" is rooted from the statement "you are the one" which used by people who are deeply in love and to assure one another that they have chosen, as slang goes "Khethile Khethile" Cool C, together with CMS performed at PALMS beauty pergant in Soweto, Tshiawelo. Photos and videos from the PALMS were shared on social media. In 9 August, 2022, Cool C unveiled the mixtape's artwork and the release date was revealed on the 19 August, 2022.

'U ONE' is an Afrobeats, Afropop and with elements of hip hop sound. On the mixtape's opener and title track "U ONE", is a love song praising a girl how lucky she is to have him. The songs instrumentals are composed of percussion and a touch of hip hop elements with production by Lucirex

"Kona" its about a song that a girl or a guy can tell to someone they really close to, that they are not going to their past irregardless of how bright it might look. The beats on the song was produced by Meckury beatz.

In June 2022, Cool C together with Shiks and Motive as CMS embarked on a small tour, performing at different locations in the country. In 19 Aug, 2022, He announced that the tour would embark on the CMS and "U ONE" simultaneously as way to support and push the mixtape.
