As the Digital Arts and Cultural Exhibition draws to a close on August 30, 2024, Muzika Wa Afrika's online gallery proudly features the work of Masana Rafuma, one of the six talented women showcasing their art at this year’s event. Running for five days, this exhibition has brought to light the incredible creativity and dedication of these artists, with Masana’s pencil portraits standing out for their intricate detail and emotional depth.
Masana Rafuma, 30, hails from the scenic village of Tshituni in Nzhelele, Limpopo. Her journey began at Tshiluwi Primary School and continued at Luateme Secondary School, where she completed her high school education in 2013. She later pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, which she obtained in 2019. Currently, Masana works as an officer in an immigration company while also running a full-time art business that has steadily gained recognition.
Driven by a profound need for self-expression and a desire to communicate her ideas and emotions through art, Masana finds joy in the creative process and the satisfaction of sharing her unique perspective with others. Her pencil drawings, particularly her portraits, breathe life into every detail, making the old feel new again.
Looking ahead, Masana envisions opening her own art gallery—one that will not only display her work but also provide a platform for other aspiring artists. She is passionate about teaching and hopes to inspire and guide those who wish to learn the craft of visual art.
For those who haven’t yet explored the exhibition, there’s still time to experience the beauty of Masana’s work and that of her fellow artists. The exhibition is easily accessible from the comfort of your home. Simply visit the link below and immerse yourself in the world of digital art.
